Candid Recommendations: Afingo | Refashion-ing Your Social Network
Monday, March 8, 2010 at 6:44PM I'm always on the internet. It's sickening but I am. If I'm not sitting at my laptop, I'm on my phone Tweeting or sharing pictures. As a beauty and fashion writer, I'm always on the lookout for the latest news - using the the internet as my biggest ally!

I want, no need, to introduce you to Afingo - your online source for EVERYTHING fashion. From the hottest under-the-radar designer to the swankiest new hole-in-the-wall store, Afingo is the one place fashion-lovers, designers/brands, and those 'in the biz' can come together to socialize and network. Not to mention, they have the latest on all things fashion-related! Think of it as your best fashion news site AND the only place to interact with those in the "industry".
I'm personally excited because never before has a site brought together fashion journalists and designers together for one on one interaction! And stores get to hear from their customers about what designers they're looking for then go directly to the designers themselves! Plus, recent college grads get the chance to talk to the designers & brand they want to work/intern for. Anyone who loves fashion or works in it, will find a place on Afingo!

Call Me, Text Me, Tweet Me - Do Your Friendships Suffer As Your Schedule Changes?
Do you remember when your schedule had that mythical entity people refer to as "free time"?
If I'm not working, I'm blogging or doing research for a blog. Or I'm cooking, cleaning, walking the dog, doing laundry, catching up on email... you can see how this list could go on. The older I get and the more I do, the more I realize how hard it is to find the time to catch up and just talk with friends. It's not that I don't want to, it's that I'm honestly - for lack there of a better word - pooped! Sometimes when things just fall into place and I get to hang out with someone, I feel bad for not trying harder to find the time to see others.
I think this is also the reason I have such a liking for technology and the advancement of social media. With smartphones and social networks, I love being able to catch up, even when I don't have the time to. I know it's not as warm and fuzzy as I'd like it to be but it's something right?
Do you feel this as well? How has your socializing changed since your schedules gotten a little busier?
