Everyday Extravagance: Essence of Beauty Loofah Body Buff

Every girls knows it's good to exfoliate a little in the mornings. Exfoliating clears dead skin cells away and reveals a brighter, smoother you! I've been using Philosophy's Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash for awhile now and I couldn't be happier. It's not too abrasive so it's perfect for everyday use without the scare of your skin getting irritated. I wanted to kick up the exfoliation a little so my esthetician suggested I get a sponge to use. After walking around my local pharmacy for about an hour, I walked out with 2 candidates.

I tried each for about 2 weeks before choosing a victor... & the winner was Essence of Beauty's Loofah Body Buff!

What I really liked was that the exfoliating side didn't hurt when I was used it on my face. If it hurts, DON'T USE IT ladies! Our skin deserves a thorough yet gentle method - especially if you don't want to irritate your skin! This buff is meant to be used all over the body but I used it specifically on my face and loved it. It's gentle side is perfect for rinsing too!If you're looking to help your morning exfoliation a bit, I'd suggest snagging one of these!

The Essence of Beauty Loofah Body Buff is available at CVS for $2.99! Stock up!

Candid Recommendations: Foundation Fix with Erno Laszlo Absolute Finish SPF 15

For a girl who loves to experiment with makeup, I'm notorious for sticking to what I know works.  It's not a crime but it does limit me - which I don't like.  It's 2010 and I've made a resolution to go outside my usual makeup box and not only try but stick to using new products.  Since foundation seems to be the one product I'm the least consistent with, I decided that's where I'd start.

Erno Laszlo has the simple belief that skincare should be as unique as you are.  With a personalized approach and innovative technologies, they've become a leader in the industry.  I have been a long time fan of their HydrapHel Emulsion SPF 15 and when I heard of their whipped makeup, I was eager to try it! The Absolute Finish SPF 15 is a one-of-a-kind air whipped formula that goes on and feels practically weightless.  The no-water mix gives great coverage as it conditions and protects from the sun and it's harsh rays.

I've been using the foundation for about 3 weeks now and I have no intention of stopping.  My shade is tan and it fits me perfectly at the moment - even if my skin tone is slightly lighter than usual.

Using a BeautyBlender, the mousse is SO easy to apply; though I'm sure you could do it with your fingers just as easily.  Plus, the formula isn't greasy and doesn't seem to irritate my skin!  Also, I don't know if this is because it's whipped but a little goes a LONG way! And since it's so light, you'll feel like you're wearing nothing - except that 'nothing' makes your skin even, toned, and flawless.

Absolute Finish SPF 15 retails for $47 and can be found at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, or online at ErnoLaszlo.com

Hello Beauty, Meet the Future:  Functionalab

There’s something that makes my day when I see two passions of mine come together.  In this case, it’s beauty and technology.  I’m a girl who’s equally excited about a new makeup collection as I am about the latest in Smartphone technology.  I’m a chic geek!

Wanting to start the year off right, one of my resolutions was to take better care of my skin.  As a big believer in prevention, vitamins are a big part of my daily nutrition.  I take the usual Vitamin E and a few others – based on what I feel is necessary.  I never really thought about taking vitamins for beauty till Functionalab.  The saying that beauty is only skin deep gets thrown out the window when you look at their selection of nutritional supplements that help you from the inside out.  Their Beauty Dose and Nutrient Tonics give the needed vitamins, nutrients, and minerals to provide support for an array of target areas.

A few of my must-have picks –

Beauty Dose:  Pure Complexion ($55)

These powerful doses protect against free radicals to help maintain skin health.

Nutrient Tonics:  Energy ($6/$22)

Ginseng and guarana is mixed into this blend of green tea and acai, blueberry, pomegrante, and cranberry extracts.
