I'm sure every girl has those days when they just don't feel that they're outfit is "done". You know, ready to conquer the world! A well-placed piece of jewelry can take that outfit from okay to fabulous. I'm a big fan of necklaces - especially multi-layered pieces. They're sort-of my weakness!
Recently, I've been working on a special project with some GENIUS jewelry designers from the Fashion Institute of Technology here in New York. I'll be providing these designers with inspiration and they'll be creating a one-of-kind piece of jewelry for me! (How cool is that?) As inspiration, I told my designers - Sarah & Yue - how much I loved the old, ornate buildings in the city and about my obsession with skulls.
My custom bling will be made from an emerging precious metal called Palladium. It's been used in jewelry by the likes of Marc Jacobs and in the latest Tiffany Handbags. Palladium's latest collaboration is with one of my favorite Brit designers, Vivienne Westwood. The limited edition collection will be called "Get a Life" and will be an ode to Westwood's love of nature. Can't wait to see!
I've been a part of the design from the start and I'm beyond excited to see the finished piece. Sarah and Yue, my two FIT design gurus, have been nothing less than amazing when it comes to wow-ing me with their ideas and sketches. I submitted pieces of inspiration and they showed me blueprints for a skull ring that's like nothing I've ever seen! As someone who appreciates beautiful and inspiring fashion and accessories, it's been wonderful to be on the actual design end of things.

Must-Have Metal: Project Palladium
