Shoegasm Sundays: A Neutral Tone to Things

I love color and I'm always looking to how to spruce up my wardrobe with different shades. Of course, like the creature of habit that I am - I always tend to stick to my tried and true favorites, which isn't bad as long as I'm willing to venture out to the untouched regions of patterns and hues.

This week's Shoegasm comes in the form of the Jeffrey Campbell Vera. It's slick design provides for comfort with that extra oomph of heel. It's neutral tone can allow me to take this from work to play by way of outfit. I'm all about belted dresses right now and these would look great with this poplin ruffle-trimmed dress from Max & Cleo! Or even this look-at-me red again belted number from Tbags!

At $110, you can afford a few more dresses to dress Vera up!

New Yorkers, Shoegasm can be found in 3 locations:

  • SoHo/Tribeca
    383 Broadway
  • Meatpacking
    71 8th Ave
  • Flatiron
    20 W 23rd

Tech-Savvy: Google Does Fashion

Image Courtesy of Fashion-Fox.comI have a morning ritual - doesn't everyone? Iced coffee in hand, I open up Hootsuite and clue myself in on what's going on in the world by way of Twitter. Honestly, most of what the world identifies as breaking news - I find out through Twitter. Where else could I get a good mix of fashion, current issues, food, and whatever else I want?

This morning's news held something that held my attention for more than a moment - Google's flight into fashion! Of course, this was news that I'd been waiting to hear FOREVER. A tech-GIANT like Google paving the relationship between the "www" and the latest threads - who could ask for more?

Code-named GStyle, the intiative is being headed up by none other than writer of post.fashionism, Tong Wang. Tony's been working at YouTube and is a certified Google-ite. He's also on the lookout for bloggers who want a chance at helping Google improve their tech and fashion relationship.

Want in? Here's how...

  • Find & Follow Tony Wang on Twitter to stay in the loop on GStyle
  • Send him an @reply letting him know you're game!

As a Internet-lover who's a slave to fashion, I can't help but be excited!

Spread the word!

PS: Tony also designs: check it out!

Sunday Shoegasm: The Not-So-Flat Flat

As girl who's pretty lacking in height, I like any chance to wear heels (comfortably). I'm all for sucking it up when I put on the killers but for everyday use, a simple heel does wonders for me. For this Sunday's Shoegasm, I present the best of both worlds - the comfort of flats with just enough heel. Besides that, I try to stay away from skyscraper heels when I'm at work so my wardrobe needs to shift easy from day to night.

Say hello to "Buckles" - the perfect all-purpose sandal (at least in my opinion) from Jeffrey Campbell. Paired with a fun dress and blazer, I can go to work or slip off the blazer and go out to play! At $130, you can afford the black pair too. You know the rules ladies - if the shoe fits, buy it in ever color!

Sunday Shoegasm: Stepping Out Like a Patriot

Happy Independence Day!

Like most women, I'm still in search of what I want to wear to celebrate our dear country's birthday. Sometimes I start an outfit around a certain piece - like a new skirt or dress. Since this our weekly Sunday Shoegasm installment, I figured I'd pick 3 pairs of foot-candy fit for any patriot!

"Palladium" in Lincoln Red
Comfortable, stylish and easy to take from this weekend's barbecue to Wednesday's boardroom! Love the peep-toe during the summer - how else will we show off our pretty painted toes?

Kelsi Dagger "Tahiti" in Ivory
There's something so sophisticatedly sexy about this shoe! I can picture it with a bright floral frock or high-waisted trousers and a romantic blousy top. Dress it up, dress it down, dress it however you'd like!

Luichiny "Reach for It" Blue
Casual yet out of the ordinary, the detail on these sandals is enough to turn heads! Wear it with a sun-dress while you shop or at brunch with your friends.

Candid Obsessions: Michael Kors Moxley Large Shoulder Tote

As a girl who's always schlepping her favorite things around, I'm a sucker for a big bag. There's just something about being able to toss everything into a bag that's as chic as it is functional. Have no fear, I always look for practicality in a bag - especially my every day bag.

Image Courtesy of MichaelKorsMichael Kors' Moxley Large Shoulder Tote has a unique shape that strays away from the average tote. Slightly wider around the middle, it can hold magazines or your net book and still be cute enough for a night on the town. Straps big enough to fit around your shoulder or leave dangling on your arm give you many ways to carry your Moxley tote. The outer zipper detail is just the right amount of edge that I like when it comes to my personal style. Fit everything for work and play in this stylish tote!

The Moxley comes in 4 different prints - Vanilla, Dune, Black and my favorite - Sand Python and retails for around $500.
