No Foundation?
Founded in 1998, Perricone MD has quickly become famous for using science and nature to provide cosmetics that not only beautify but are beneficial for the skin -- otherwise known as Cosmceuticals. As a leader in professional skincare, the Perricone MD line has become a name synonymous with great skin. The use of technology and applied science has allowed them to patent and create wondrous advancements in skin care; such as Vitamin C Ester, Phospholipids, Neuropeptides, and more.
Perricone MD’s No Foundation Foundation is truly a marvel! A translucent lightweight liquid that is meant to allow your skin’s natural color to shine. By hiding tiny problems this formula wants YOUR natural beauty to come through - not a fixated color or tone.

It’s chock full of great ingredients like..
- Alpha Lipoic Acid - which smoothes the texture of the skin, evens tone, and minimizes lines and wrinkles
- DMAE - has amazing firming, lifting, and contouring benefits
- Zinc Oxide & Titanium Oxide - a natural sunscreen for the skin
How I used it:
I used the No Foundation Foundation as a moisturizer - which is a big thing for me since I’ve stuck to the same moisturizer for a long time now. Using my fingertips, I did just as the directions told me and applied it all over my face in circular motions.
What I noticed:
After a few seconds of allowing the solution to settle in, I noticed that my skin DID look evened out. My tone was luminescent and smooth(er) to the touch! The formula was light and didn’t weigh my face down - nor was it greasy! There is a slight sunscreen-like scent to it but I didn’t mind. Although those of you who can’t stand any scents in their makeup, this is not for you. I skipped my usual mineral foundation and just applied my Smashbox Halo Hydrating Powder and was quite happy! It gave me that fresh, natural look that I wanted and I even received a compliment from someone who said I was ‘glowing’. Not bad Perricone MD!
PURely Perfect!
If you guys read the blog, you know that I’m a big mineral makeup fan. I love how gorgeous it makes my skin look without the heaviness of a cream or liquid. I’ve always been a die-hard Bare Minerals fan but a few weeks ago - my loyalty was tested! PUR Minerals has created a truly revolutionary product with their 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation.

Usually, everyone’s biggest gripe with minerals is the mess they can make. Of course, unless you’re remarkably skilled with your hands, there’s no way for you to not spill a little or flick some on your clothing. Using the best that nature has to offer and cutting edge technology, PUR Minerals has managed to create a makeup that is talc-free, fragrance-free, oil-free, and filler-free! Not to mention they throw in a little Shea Butter and Vitamin E to keep it all together.
So you’re probably wondering how it’s 4 in ONE right? Well the pressed minerals act not only as a foundation but ALSO as a makeup concealer, powder, and SPF 15 protection. What more could you want? And it’s all conveniently cased in a perfectly purse-sized compact. It comes with it’s own ‘Chisel Brush’, which is supposedly the best way to apply the minerals. I love the look and feel of it’s chunky head and how evenly it distributed color. Of course, I’m sure any kabuki brush would work just as well.
What I really enjoy from PUR Minerals is there WIDE selection of shades that can probably match anyone’s skin tone! Given the Editor’s Choice award at Allure magazine, PUR Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation is worth a look! Their Starter Kit is great if you want to try out their easy to apply system and it comes sized just for on-the-go!

What I noticed:
Using the Chisel Brush, I swept a little all over my face and I liked how natural it made my face look. The 4-in-1 covered up my small blemishes and evened out my skin's tone to make it look as if I was flawless. You can build your level of coverage up or down depending on what you need.
